I think I got this radio transmitter working. Just wanted to give y’all a holler.
Message from Rose - Journal Entry 1
Dear Journal,
I know I haven’t written in a while, and I know I should write more. After all, I’ll only improve if I practice. You know, Pa says that I should continue to educate myself. Brindle says it’s a “waste of time,” but I agree with Pa. It isn’t a waste of time, especially because we’re gonna be going and seeing people soon. I should do my very best to educate myself before then.
Can I admit something to you? I’m excited to see other people. Ma always talks about this great community of people and how we should all contribute to help it grow. She says that the wastelands are large, but that we’re all part of the same world and we should all help one another. But we’ve never really been far from our farm or outside the woods. Sometimes we get traders passing through, but that’s about it. There isn’t a real big opportunity to “contribute” to the world. Ma finally convinced Pa that we should go into a local town. It’s called “The Grove.”
Anyway, here’s the exciting bit. I found an old transmitter in our barn. Probably from the previous owners, but it looks pretty neat. I think I might be able to fix it up and maybe broadcast to other people. I figure I could talk about things I see and my life and maybe even give advice to people.
I know it’s silly, but I like the idea of getting to know some people outside of Ma, Pa, Brindle, and Ricker.
Gotta go. Ma’s telling me I gotta chop some wood.
